"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. " -Luke 6:37
Fr. Vic Cruz, my former Parish Priest shared this story:
On a very busy day, in a bus terminal there was a very long line of passengers patiently waiting for the bus to come. In the line was an old lady carrying many stuffs with her and a good-looking macho guy. They do not know each other.
When the bus finally arrived. The good-looking macho guy who was at the last in the line went ahead of others before him. He entered the bus and took the best place and seated.
All were surprised to what he did. As each of them entered the bus, they were looking furiously to the good-looking macho guy who was just seated comfortably to his chosen seat.
People looked at him as "bastos", "walang modo" and others.
When the old lady went in the bus, the good-looking macho guy stood up and offered his seat to the old lady.
The old lady thanked him. He said; "Kaya nga po lola nagpauna ako, para makakuha ako ng magandang pwesto para sa inyo." (That was the reason why I went ahead, to be able to get a nice seat for you)
Is he still "bastos"? Is he still "walang modo"?
Most of the time we easily judged without knowing first the intention of the action.
Prayer:
Lord. teach me not to be judgmental. Teach me to see the beauty in my neighbors. Amen.
